The name of the project:

International design projects «In search of cold» / En Quête du Froid», 2020-2023

Description:

The workshop project within the "Crossroads of Cultures" winter school of the educational and cultural research project "Warmth of Cold/ Chaleur du froid" has been operating since 2014. As a result, the agreements on cooperation between the North-Eastern Federal University named after M. K. Ammosov (Russia), the Arctic State Institute of Art and Culture, partner universities of France were signed.

In 2021 the projects theme was changed on "In search of cold" / En Quête du Froid". Participants of the project: the Higher Institute of Applied Arts in Rennes (LISAA), Arctic State Institute of Art and Culture, the North-Eastern Federal University named after M.K. Ammosov (Russia). The international project united students in a multidisciplinary artistic creative project, and took place simultaneously in Yakutsk and Rennes, France. The main purpose of this workshop was to meet yakutian and french students, to discover pedagogical methods related to art education practiced in related educational institutions. The topic of the seminar "In search of cold" was chosen based on the perspective and desire to discover and popularize the Yakut culture in its extreme ecological context. Despite the completely different ecological context in which the Higher Institute of Applied Arts of Rennes located in Bretagne, a region with a mild oceanic climate where winter temperatures hover around 0 ° C, there are certain similarities between the territories of the Yakuts and the Breton. These are the northern regions of multicultural countries - Russia and France. Both regions have their own regional flavor, peculiarities of regional culture and identity.

Name of the project:

Universal University Summer school of jewelry design 2019, 2023

Description of the project:

The unique program of the school, developed jointly by the Arctic Institute of Culture and Arts, the Universal University and the “Saybm”, a jewelry and diamond cutting cluster, united partners in achieving the strategic goals of the large-scale transformational program "Priority 2030. The Far East." The project is one of the successful examples of UU and ASICA programs with the experience of the joint project "Summer School of Jewelry Design" in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), in 2019. The program, based on a long-term course at the British Higher School of Art and Design "Jewelry Design", includes theoretical and practical classes on jewelry design, trends in jewelry design, analytical drawing, business, marketing and SMM. In November 2019, graduates of the program took part in the international jewelry exhibition in Tokyo (7th International Jewelry Tokyo AUTUMN 2019), where they presented products to buyers of Japanese jewelry networks and large jewelry companies.

The Summer School of Jewelry Design in 2023 continued the concept of joint projects, taking into account previous experience, with the deep understanding that Yakutia, the country's main diamond mining region, shares resources with external players in the jewelry market, practically without producing its own design product. In 2021, the Department of Design and Decorative and Applied Arts and industrial partners initiated the implementation of the bachelor's degree program "Jewelry Design" at the Arctic Institute of Culture and Arts, combining the traditions of jewelry art and modern design practices, which was certainly an important event in the industry.
