About the department

In the modern labor market, there is a growing need for specialists with knowledge and skills in the field of applied computer science in the field of culture and digital media.

Digital transformation in the cultural sphere: Since the advent of digital technologies, the cultural sphere has been actively implementing and using them to create, preserve and distribute cultural products and services. Computer science has become an integral part of activities in museums, theaters, libraries, galleries, and other cultural institutions.
The importance of data analytics: Experts in the field of applied computer science can help cultural institutions in collecting, analyzing and interpreting data, for example, about visitors or consumers of content. This data allows us to formulate strategies, optimize processes, and improve the quality of services provided.
Digital media development: Digital media such as websites, mobile apps, social networks, and video platforms play a significant role in the cultural sphere. Trained specialists in applied computer science are able to create and manage such digital media platforms.

Thus, specialists in applied computer science in the field of culture and digital media are in demand in the labor market, because they are able to effectively use information technology to develop and solve problems in the field of culture. They can innovate, optimize work processes, and create new digital products and services for cultural institutions and others.

The department participates in the implementation of grants and projects commissioned by cultural and art institutions of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The staff of the department contributes to the digital transformation of the social sphere with major projects to digitalize the cultural heritage of the peoples of the North:

Activities of the department

November Programming Olympiad among students of general education institutions of the RS(Ya) in order to identify and form potential applicants for further support and preparation for admission to ASICS in the field of preparation 09.03.03 "Applied Informatics"; development of students' specialized creative abilities and interest in research activities; propaganda scientific knowledge; formation of key competencies, professionally significant personal qualities and motivation for the practical application of subject knowledge; creating the necessary conditions to support creatively gifted children.

December - Olympiad in computer science among students of educational institutions in Yakutsk within the framework of the annual city competition "Choice of Prof.Yakutsk" in order to promote the development of the process of professional self-determination of students of educational institutions, to encourage students to enroll in universities in the capital;

March - The qualifying stage of the republican contest "My profession is IT" in order to support and provide professional guidance to young people in the field of information technology and technological entrepreneurship in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia);

April The All-Russian Olympiad among students of educational institutions of secondary vocational education in information technology aimed at popularizing the Olympiad movement, increasing the interest of young people in studying modern information technologies and programming, and promoting professional orientation in the field of 09.03.03 "Applied Informatics".
